The Academic Assembly is established by the MSU Constitution to provide a forum to discuss issues related to academic affairs, teaching and learning, and quality assurance, as well as areas that influence student learning, as they afect all students across the University so as to be in a position to advise the VP Education and the Union where necessary.

Membership

Membership of Academic Assemblies shall consist of members of the Executive and all Student Academic Representatives and are set out in Schedule 4 of the MSU Constitution.

The Academic Assembly shall convene as and when required.

Meetings of the Academic Assembly may be convened on the receipt of a written request from any of the following, namely:

• VP Education
• All faculty convenors
• One-third of the membership of Academic Assembly.

At least seventy-two hours notice shall be given for a meeting of the Academic Assembly.
