Expressions of Interest: Speaker of the AMLMN-MSU Student Senate
Aontas Mac Léinn Mhá Nuad(AMLMN)/Maynooth Students’ Union (MSU) is now inviting expressions of interest for the position of Speaker of the AMLMN-MSU Student Senate.
The Speaker is the independent chairperson who presides over all sittings of the AMLMN-MSU Student Senate, ensuring meetings are conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with AMLMN-MSU’s governance procedures.
About the Role
The Speaker plays a key part in supporting student governance at AMLMN-MSU.
The successful candidate will:
• Chair all sittings of the AMLMN-MSU Student Senate.
• Ensure meetings are well-organised, inclusive, and procedurally sound.
• Work closely with AMLMN-MSU staff to prepare agendas and guide Senate proceedings.
• Maintain impartiality and uphold the integrity of the Senate.
Who Should Apply?
We are seeking a professional individual with:
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience or understanding of governance boards or democratic processes.
• A commitment to impartiality and fairness.
• Availability to attend six scheduled Senate meetings throughout the academic year.
The term of office runs from the first sitting of the Student Senate this semester until 30th June 2027.
