Expressions of Interest: Speaker of the MSU Student Senate
Maynooth Students’ Union (MSU) is now inviting expressions of interest for the position of Speaker of the MSU Student Senate.
The Speaker is the independent chairperson who presides over all sittings of the MSU Student Senate, ensuring meetings are conducted fairly, efficiently, and in accordance with MSU’s governance procedures.
About the Role
The Speaker plays a key part in supporting student governance at MSU.
The successful candidate will:
• Chair all sittings of the MSU Student Senate.
• Ensure meetings are well-organised, inclusive, and procedurally sound.
• Work closely with MSU staff to prepare agendas and guide Senate proceedings.
• Maintain impartiality and uphold the integrity of the Senate.
Who Should Apply?
We are seeking a professional individual with:
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Experience or understanding of governance boards or democratic processes.
• A commitment to impartiality and fairness.
• Availability to attend six scheduled Senate meetings throughout the academic year.
The term of office runs from the first sitting of the Student Senate this semester until 30th June 2026.
