Haigh a chairde! 

I’m Charli your Vice President Academic Affairs & Deputy President of Internal Communication here at Aontas Mac Léinn Mhá Nuad-Maynooth Students’ Union (AMLMN-MSU) for this academic year. I am a recent graduate of Philosophy and Politics. You may recognise me from last year’s Exec where I served as a Full-Time Officer as AMLMN-MSU Uachtarán. I was originally elected as your VP Academic Affairs, but I have also been an academic rep for Politics in the first two years of my time here in Maynooth, and the Social Sciences Faculty Convenor in my final year. Outside of AMLMN-MSU, I am a local from just outside of Maynooth and grew up around the college basically my whole life, I swam in the old South Campus pool before it was shut down! 

My job is representing you on any academic issues and ensure that education policy in MU is student centred. I work to represent and improve the academic experience of all students at Maynooth University. I am here to support students with academic issues by providing guidance, listening to concerns, and helping students access the right supports when needed. I oversee the Academic Rep system, coordinate Faculty Assemblies, and ensure that student voices are heard in university committees and decision-making processes. I also lead campaigns on educational issues, such as DeStress and UpSkill, keep students informed about changes that affect their studies, and work locally and nationally to advocate for improvements in higher education. My goal is to make sure every student has a strong voice in shaping their education and to help create the best possible academic experience at Maynooth. 

My biggest piece of advice for you is to get involved it singlehandedly changed my experience as a Maynooth student and open me up to incredible opportunities that I would have never experienced if it weren’t for the SU. If you have any questions or are interested, drop me an email!
