We aim to create a fun atmosphere for the student body and to teach aspiring DJ’s. We also help DJ’s to network with local promoters and DJ’s so that they can find their own gigs and kickstart their DJing career.

We hold weekly meetings, having a laugh and showing members the ropes, some of whom have went from having no knowledge to now having played in nightclubs around the country.

Last year was somewhat of a revival for MU DJ Soc. We, the committee, didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves in for last September and we took each week as it came.

We had a strong focus on building strong foundations so that the Soc would be successful for the long run. Thankfully our efforts were recognized and we were lucky enough to win Most Improved Society 2017/18 and Best Society Fresher at the Clubs and Socs awards.

The resurrection of DJ Soc has created an outlet for those with an interest in DJing and music to come together to meet new people, make friends and learn new skills. It also created a trustworthy, quality source of DJs to play at events run by the SU or other societies.
