USI Vice President for the BMW Region | Gary Tobin
Gary (he/him) is originally from the midlands and grew up in the beautiful countryside along the river Shannon in Longford. During his younger years he was actively involved in youth initiatives and developed a deep appreciation for recreation participation and self-development. He later enrolled in third level education at GMIT’s Mayo Campus in Castlebar, where he obtained a level 8 Bachelor of Arts in Outdoor Education and Leisure. It was his burning desire to give back to the student experience and so he ran for SU elections on GMIT’s Mayo Campus where had the pleasure of working alongside students as the VP for GMIT SU’s Mayo Campus for two terms. He has come to appreciate the supportive community ethos of the BMW region which has had a positive impact on his development as a sabbatical officer and looks forward to the year ahead.
